Installing Helical Piers
Each pier is driven to the torque the design calls for. Expect 10 to 30 feet in most cases, with longer runs where lakeside conditions demand it.
Installation details
Foundation support for commercial buildings and new construction around Eagle Mountain Lake, where soil moisture rarely sits still. Our own piers, our own rigs, our own crew.
Sites around the lake sit on North Texas clay, with one extra variable: a big body of water close by. Moisture in the soil there rises and falls with rainfall, runoff, and lake levels, and the foundation above feels each swing.
Soil nearer the shoreline stays wetter and reacts differently from soil a few hundred feet back. Within one property, two corners of a building can see different movement.
Lots near the water are often graded to create level building pads. Fill that was not compacted evenly settles over time, and a footing sitting half on fill and half on native soil moves unevenly.
Heavy rain moves down slope toward the lake, and it passes by foundations on the way. Poor drainage at a building edge can undermine soil support long before anything shows inside.
Find the cause. Before recommending piers on an older structure, we measure elevations across the floor and review drainage and grade. Some problems are water problems, and we will say so.
Take any one of these alone with a grain of salt. Several together, or one that keeps growing, should be looked at by a professional.
Manufacturing and installation sit under one roof, which means no handoff between the company that made the pier and the one that set it.

Manufacturing and sales
For a structure that has already moved, we design a pier system around its weight and around the soil profile in the Eagle Mountain area.
See the processWe review your plans or soil report, or for an existing building we take elevation readings and study the drainage. If piers are not the answer, we say that.
Pier count, spacing, and depth are set from your structure's loads and the ground conditions, then reviewed with your engineer.
Crews advance each pier with hydraulic drive equipment while watching torque, so capacity is read from the machine and not guessed.
Torque readings are filed per pier location. Commercial work comes with a 10-year warranty and the Green Tag Guarantee.
Anyone can claim quality. We hand you the measurements that back it up.
Piers are advanced until they reach a specified torque value. That reading reflects how strong the soil is at the exact spot.
Each location gets its own torque entry, giving owners and inspectors something concrete to verify against.
We can load-test piers in compression or tension with hydraulic gear that records how far a pier moves under load.
We follow the engineer of record's drawings. If conditions require a change, it goes through them.

New crew members go through our own Helical Trade School. Bill Vaughan, our CEO, is the author of Next Day Helicals, which other installers use as a field reference.
| Criterion | Helical pier | Push pier | Drilled/poured pier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to carry load | Immediately once installed | Depends on how much the structure weighs | After concrete gains strength |
| Wet or soft clay | Drives in without a large excavation | Digging required and slower in wet clay | Open holes may collapse |
| Proof of capacity | Torque logged per pier | How hard the pier was driven | Shaft inspection and design |
| Depth | Whatever the torque requires | Until it meets the structure's resistance | Predetermined |
